Friends, I'm struggling thinking about super hero films in our next series, "What is a Hero". I think there is something about how I watch super hero films, you kind of have to stop questioning and just enjoy.
The idea of our themes is to really make us question. What does being a hero mean in our community? I'm really questioning, who are the heroes that Hopkins talks about and what films represent them.
As I am trying to think of movies I would like to see next season, I think of "firsts" like Catherine Burnes, the first female doctor in Hennepin County. Or Butsie Maetzold, a coach for 40 years. These are heroes, real heroes that inspire us.
Part of super heroes is that they are beyond human. They were born that way, or became that way. They aren't like us. And therefore, don't inspire me personally.
I don't know, just wondering what you all think?
Are Super Heroes real heroes?
